It is the technology that makes AvMar Marine Glass better!
Since its inception, AvMar Marine Glass has always utilized state-of-the-art technology to produce their glass products. Now, AvMar has introduced next generation 3D Digitizing technology to today’s yacht glass world by being the first to utilize the new FARO Focus3D laser scanner.
The FARO digitizer, already the smallest and most advanced laser scanner on the market, improved their product by enhancing the registration and remote functionality features, making the post-processing work even more streamlined and accurate.
“No one in our industry is utilizing this type of technology today,” said Rick Simmons, president of AvMar Marine Glass. “The power of this laser scanner is incredible. It can digitally 3D scan a 120 meter circular area with accuracy that is +- 2 millimeters!”
What does this technology mean to the customer?
With digital 3D Laser Digitizing technology, there are no fiberglass molds or wood templates to construct and ship to the glass manufacturer. Digital files are sent directly to the manufacturer. Time spent by measuring crew on the yacht is reduced by more than 70 % Measurements are accurate to +- 2 mm making installation even more precise.
The digital measurements will remain accurate forever—making it easy to reproduce any individual glass panel without the need to re-measure. Glass can be ordered and shipped to any location in the world for convenient installation.
Better technology allows AvMar the ability to offer a five-year warranty against leaks and bond failure—unheard of in the yachting industry.
